DD - Disciples

God speaking:

Disciples wanted!!!  Only believers need apply!!!
John 8:31, 13:35, 15:8, Matthew 10:24,25,  Luke 14:26,27,33, Mark 4:34

Disciples = Ones being taught -- learners-- ones who believe in His Doctrine and Teaching as presented in the Word of God...

Qualifications =

1. Availability - ones who are willing to deny self... Learn well the death to self teaching.  Denounce self-pity... self-adulation... selfish desires, ambitions... Die to ambition, be willing to be insulted, criticized, rejected.  (this is hard in our culture of narcissism.)

2. Having a right heart attitude 
Be filled with the Holy Spirit. 
Submission to God and your legitimate authority.
Learning to obey on command.
Knowing not only 'what to do', but 'when to do it'.
Be teachable.

3. Being excited and delighted about the Lord and eager to grow
'Go ye'... not stay put...
'Follow Me'... not any other gods... Share your faith.
Explore territories of faith that you never knew existed before...
If anyone is thirsty... Come to Me and drink.
If you are hungry... I am the bread of Life.
If you are sick of pollution... I am the Living Waters.
I give you richly all things to enjoy.
I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
I will never betray your trust.
Cast all your cares on Me......... Jesus.

4. Job description for disciples 
And thou shalt love the Lord with all thine heart... soul....strength....mind....

Seek His Kingdom first...
Do not start... then turn back...
Do not be hearers only - but be doers of the Word...
Be yourself - do not imitate another child of God....
Keep right relationships in your life...
Serve the Lord with gladness....
Humble yourself in the sight of God...
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem...
Pray for America, our leaders, our elected officials, our country.
Make sure that your life is in Divine order, bless your world...

5. From Discipleship into leadership ... Luke 7:1-10... This comes through suffering and obedience... Christian leadership is warfare, spiritually.  (Joseph..30 yrs.  Jesus 30 - Paul 14 - Moses 40 - etc.)
Don't look back...  God said you will never go back that way again.  Deuteronomy 17:17

We will be studying the book of Joshua... Read it through at least once.
