DD - Spiritual Journal Keeping

L.L. Living Skills 11/1984  (I do not know who or what L.L. is)

Purpose:  To find out how we can know God more and develop our relationship with Him through keeping a Spiritual Journal.

Scripture:  Philippians 3:10

God commands us to write down, record His truth and sayings.  The Lord told Moses to 'write this in a book as a memorial' - to recall what God has done, to know and believe what He will do.  The Israelites were commanded to write the words of the law on lime tablets so they could enter the land.  King Josiah turned to the Lord with his whole heart when he found out what was written in the Law.   Exodus 17:14, Deuteronomy 6:9, Deuteronomy 1:18,19, Exodus 34:27,28, Habakkuk 2:2, Ecclesiastes 12:9,10, Isaiah 8:1,16, II Kings 22:8-13

Some of the benefits that have accrued to me since I started to keep a Spiritual journal:  Daily Words, prayers of deliverance, teachings, observed changes in my heart attitude, self-discovery, answers to prayer, insight into specific situations, reality check, guidance, confirmation of what God wants me to do, help in spiritual battle, exhortation to use spiritual gifts, spiritual growth and maturity.  

Overtime, if we are faithful to seek God daily and record in our Spiritual Journal we will see that we have come to know God more and discover His ways.
