Wanted : Servants who do windows, answer telephones, go the extra mile, turn the other cheek, give away,bless and curse not, do good to the slanderers, persecuters, who do not 'revile again', wash feet, eat anything, stay at 1* (1 Star) motels and clap and rejoice, jump up and down for joy....... Irish need apply - also Jewish-Spanish-Swedish-Arab-Americans...
Job description of a Servant: Luke 17:7-10, I Corinthians 6:20, I Corinthians 7:22
Jesus 1st... others 2nd...self-last...
1) keep on working, serving, doing the business at hand.
2) don't expect praise - flattery - do refuse it - give it to the Lord...
3) yeild. Obey. keep serving
4) at best, we are lowly servants.
5) read gospels and walk the 'Calvary Road'.
Principles of serving:
Right attitude. Ask God for a servant's heart.
Mary served by waiting-worshipping-listening. Jesus commended her and said, "Mary has chosen the better part and it shall never be taken away from her"... (are you catching on?)
Learn to be a servant by asking Jesus to show us how...
Humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord... Pray-'make me a servant in my Father's house.' Luke 15
DO NOT
Be like the heathen. They desire lordship over others.
Be like the Pharisees, Drs. of the Law, Saducees, they like to take the chief seats, pull their self-righteous robes away from pollution... they like to be the biggest, the greatest and the best.
Be like the brothers and the mother who wanted her sons to be right next to Jesus in His Kingdom.
Do work on:
No rights. Die to self. Never deny the Lord. Be a servant- just start serving. Be a voice. Be a watchman. A preparer of the Way for Jesus. A forerunner to help make hearts ready to receive Him, His healing power, deliverance. Go for 'ego-slaying'. He is in you and with you and will help you. Anticipate needs of others. Eliminate the black holes in our space. Keep asking Jesus to fill you up with Himself. Willingly, humbly, gladly serve the Lord. Submit-defer to others. Acknowledge others better than ourselves. Take the blame, be the 1st to repent and ask for forgiveness, confess, take the seat that is the lowest/ last and least. Do now show partiality... Do imitate our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Learn of Him for He is meek and lowly of heart. Do a spiritual dig on Servanthood-(p. on Spir. digs) and ask God to work it out in your heart.
RESULTS:
Finish strong.... rest to our souls... ready to go or stay or to use our ministry gifts at all times... deliverance of pleasing people... letting go of me/mine... reputation, condemnation, judgement... loving others, obeying the Lord. Appreciation of others and their gifts... drop the comparison trap... love others... obey the Lord... Liberty in the Spirit and learning to obey on command... SERVANTS - start serving.

possessors of PEACE - joy
